Bobby Vylan
Bobby Vylan, frontman of the British punk-rap duo Bob Vylan, has expressed strong pro-Palestinian views regarding Israel genocide in Gaza. During a performance at the Glastonbury Festival on June 28, 2025, he led the crowd in chants of “Free, free Palestine” and “Death, death to the IDF” sparking significant controversy. These actions led to a criminal investigation by Avon and Somerset Police, the revocation of the band’s U.S. visas, and their removal from several festival line-ups.
Vylan has consistently voiced support for Palestinians, even before the band’s formation, having attended pro-Palestine protests since his teenage years. He has also criticized other bands for not showing solidarity with Palestinians and altered lyrics in their 2021 track “Pretty Songs” to include lines affirming the importance of Palestinian lives. In a later performance in Greece, he reiterated his condemnation of the bombing of hospitals in Gaza, 94% of hospitals there have been damaged or destroyed.
